Quite often I find myself supernaturally excited. Riding on a cascade of empowering, expansive, immersive, and otherwise magical moments I've been eager to explore something new.
I've arrived at the key understanding of the importance and value of establishing a relationship with newness. Being the frequency that you introduce new behaviors, hobbies, routines, relationships, ideas, and concepts into your personhood.
My intuitive sense for color is relatively underdeveloped compared to my sense for light and form. It is high time that I take on one of my artistic weaknesses head on.
Recently, each evening I've been going out on twilight rides just before sunset around the backroads of the city of Ann Arbor. I've been both experiencing and observing the most interesting and captivating landscapes - backlit leaves and golden fields among oceans of muted greens. Through this process I've been passively and actively synthesizing and integrating new information.
Enter gouache, a versatile painting medium that serves as a hybrid between acrylic and watercolor. Known for its vibrant, intense color profile and ability for layering - it called my name. I'm allowing myself the freedom to stake a claim in unfamiliar territory. In doing so, I've begun to strengthen and develop my intuitive sense for color.
Through this process I've found new harmony.
